A World Apart,
Just Across the Water.

Limestone Bay Estate reflects a long tradition of private country homes designed for extended stays – places where guests gather, share meals, and let days unfold naturally, shaped by the land and the season rather than by schedules.

30 Years in the Making

Mac Voisin acquired a modest 400-foot parcel of land on Simcoe Island in 1993. He chose this specific point for the perspective it offered. It sits exactly 2.2 miles from Kingston – close enough to watch the city move, far enough away that the estate remains perfectly still.
Over the next three decades, he assembled five separate properties into a 70-acre retreat. He moved thousands of tons of local limestone to shape a landscape that feels like a natural puzzle.

What began as a summer home evolved over the decades into a hub of hospitality and charity events. The transition to a resort estate was born from a desire to share the property’s unique sense of peace.

Every detail has recently been elevated to meet the standards of a world-class resort, from high-thread-count linens to exceptional amenities. But we kept the informal, welcoming character of a private country home.

Because that is exactly what it is.

Private. Intentional. Unforgettable.

Stepping onto the estate feels like entering a different world. The silence is profound.

Simcoe Island is a quiet four-mile stretch of land where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River. At Limestone Bay, your nearest neighbours are nearly a kilometer away. A level of privacy that is rare to find.

Here, you own the pace. There are no outside players on the golf course. There are no rigid check-in times for activities. Your time here is not managed by a clock. It is managed by the movement of the sun over the St. Lawrence and the quiet urge to do as much, or as little, as you please.

You will not find crowds here. You will find millions of travelling birds. From the estate's grounds, you can observe an extremely wide array of birds including majestic Mute Swans.

Visible across the water is Kingston. From the estate, you can see the very points where the War of 1812 shaped the nation, all while standing in the absolute quiet of your private retreat.

Private Rounds, Redefined

The course was never meant to be a formal project. It began with a friend’s suggestion for a three-hole setup and grew organically as visitors offered layout ideas over evening drinks.

Today, it is a professionally maintained 18-hole experience featuring nine greens and eighteen distinct approaches. It is challenging. It is unconventional. And it is entirely yours for the duration of your stay. Play three rounds in a day or none at all. The fairway is your backyard.

Dining at the estate is an event in itself. Our Executive Chef brings a career of high-level culinary expertise to the island.

Rather than a standard menu, you enjoy a planned seven-day gastronomical cycle that celebrates the season. Whether served in the intimate dining room or as a plated experience in the Great Room, his food is superb. Every meal is designed to be a focal point of your stay.

Here is what people say after trading a crowded resort for 70 acres of private paradise.

The property is, in a word, exceptional. Superb accomodations. The amenities are above and beyond your wildest expectations. The maintenance and playability of the golf course isn't above average, it's above exceptional. And don't get me started on the spectacular setting and unparalleled views of the historic Kingston shoreline.
